American composer Stephen Reich is widely respected as an influence on musicians such as Phillip Glass, King Crimson, Brian Eno, the Orb and just about the entire music world. Originally a minimalist, though later dismissing the term, Stephen Reich has used tape loops to create phasing patterns and other repetitive patterns.
