About Scorpions
The hard rock band the Scorpions formed in Hannover, Germany in 1969. Throughout the 70s they tried to form their sound and their lineup, at one point auditioning as many as 140 guitarists for the job, until Matthias Jabs joined them. Come 1979 and the album Lovedrive, the first time the Scorpions charted high outside Germany, they were about to take over the 80s with a hair metal storm.
