About Nas
One of New York's freshest and coolest rappers, Nas (full name Nasir Jones and previously known as Nasty Nas) hit it off with his very first release Illmatic. The platinum selling album established Nas as a serious and respected artist, but later releases, throughout the 90s and until Stillmatic in 2001, saw Nas moving towards the mainstream and barely holding on to his faithful followers. Stillmatic restored the trust and respect of Nas.
