About Muddy Waters
Regarded as the Farther of Chicago Blues, Muddy Waters grew up in the Mississippi Delta. Like many others in his time, he listened to Son House's slide guitar and when he moved to St. Louis, then to Chicago, in the early 40s, he became a professional blues guitarist himself. With an electric guitar he received from his uncle, Muddy Waters was able to play at the clubs and be heard over the crowds, an "accidental" beginning of a legendary blues career.
