About Manic Street Preachers
A working class upbringing in Blackwood, south Wales is an obvious influence on the Manic Street Preachers, particularly in their lyrics. The music, an alternative rock with punk elements at times, other time more synthesizer Brit-pop, and dress style, first appearing in leather and black eyeliner, later going more conservative. The phases in the Street Preachers' career in some way explain the saying of theirs early on that a band should break up after one album, they choosing to change styles from one to another.
