Blues-rock singer-songwriter Janis Joplin is one of the most distinctive voices in American music history. Living long enough to release only four albums, two of them with the Big Brother and The Holding Company of San Francisco, Janis Joplin received due awards for lifetime achievement later in 1995, upon being inducted in the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame in 1995.
