New wave, dance and hard rock all came together in a unique way that made INXS into what they are – an international hit producing rock group. Sleek and stylish, the band of six person group was most identified with the lead singer's shrubby face. They suffered a tragic loss and an artistic turning point when Michael Hutchence killed himself in 1997, twenty years after INXS formed in Sydney, Australia.
