About Green Day
Neo-punk and post punk groups came on the scene in the early to mid 90s, a period of post-Nirvana shock. Green Day are most definitely the most successful of these groups and also the longest surviving act. Between Dookie in 1994 and American Idiot in 2004, Green Day have infiltrated the mainstream rock industry with their brash and ironic music, short tracks based on three chords in the best of the punk tradition.
