New Wave band Duran Duran were most likely the most successful of all New Romantic bands. Aided by their boyish good looks and unlike other more eccentric bands of the time, Duran Duran were able to cross to the mainstream and sell nearly 100 million albums. Even later, in the 90s and these very days, Duran Duran are considered an eighties band.
