Born Harry Rodger Webb, Cliff Richard was a revolutionary rock and roll musician who preceded anything cool practically, the Beatles included. A late 60s breakup from the shadows, his celebrated backing band, a conversion to Christianity and a general pop direction have pretty much effaced Cliff Richard's name from later rock milestones, but have kept him in the pantheon of past greats.
