About Charles Aznavour
Instead of his talent success came very slowly to him. Charles Aznavour at first found some difficulty being accepted as a composer in France or anywhere else. It was considered that his works couldn't compete with modern standard. They were regarded as too risque for French radio and were banned from the airwaves for a decade or more, from the late ‘40-s through the end of the 1950-s. After 1948-s visit to New York, he discovered that American publishers seemed equally reticent about his compositions.
