When Billy Idol decided to drop his spiky blonde hair in favor of dreadlocks, and tried new techno beats in lieu of the style that was expected from him and loved by his fans, it proved to be a really, really bad idea. The album tanked and failed. Billy Idol at the time was deep in drug addiction. Seeing his life a failure, he overdosed in 1994 and had to be treated.
