About Benny Goodman
Benny Goodman first began taking clarinet lessons at ten at a synagogue. His first professional debut was at age twelve, and already at the age of 14 he ran away from home in order to dedicate his life to his music. Benny Goodman joined the Ben Pollack band, with which he made his first released band recordings in December 1926, at the age of 16.
