About Anita Baker
Anita Baker can look back from her current status as an eight time Grammy Award winner and laugh at her tough start. Her first band, the famous chapter 8, did not work out as their label shut down. Then her first album, years later in 1983, titled The Songstress, was only a mild success. Anita Baker's next album in 1986, this time on a major record label, titled Rapture was already platinum success, the first of many to follow.
